2 methods to merge overlapping geometries

Method 1: Hover over a cube, press L to select linked, then search with F3, Merge by Distance and adjust the slider.
Method 2: Select a cube, deselect/reselect the reference vertex. Enable Auto-Merge (N-panel > Tool > Options > Transform). Turn on Snapping as shown in the video, then move the mesh.
