Alias-style navigation setup in Blender

Go to EditPreferencesKeymap. Under 3D View3D View (Global), locate the following actions and set them as follows:

  • Rotate View: Shift + Alt + Left Mouse Button

  • Pan View: Shift + Alt + Middle Mouse Button

  • Zoom View: Shift + Alt + Right Mouse Button

Note: You’ll find multiple entries for these (e.g. trackpad). It’s best to change the default Desktop keymaps (default keymaps are: MMB, Shift + MMB, Ctrl + MMB). Apply the same logic to 2D areas (e.g. View2DPan View, etc). You may encounter some conflicts with other keymaps, especially due to the use of the SHIFT key.
